Mihiroa Thompson has been heavily involved in the preservation of Maori artifacts in the Wellington Museum. Originally from Te Araroa, a small East Coast community, she spent many years learning about the history of her ancestors from her grandparents who were both of Maori and European descent. She is a strong advocate for equal rights for all New Zealanders.
